Krishan Oberoi is the Founder & Artistic Director of SACRA/PROFANA, an 18-voice professional vocal ensemble based in San Diego. Before moving to Southern California in the fall of 2007, Mr. Oberoi conducted numerous ensembles in successful performances, including the Yale Repertory Chorus, Yale Recital Chorus & Orchestra, and the Ecclesia Consort of New England. As Music Director of St. Anthony Church in North Providence, RI from 1999-2007, he founded the St. Anthony Festival Singers, a semi-professional choral ensemble specializing in chant and polyphony. As Music Director, Krishan also expanded the St. Anthony Adult Choir and established the parish Youth Choir. From 2005-2007, Krishan acted as Associate Conductor for two additional ensembles: the United Girls Choir of Clinton, CT, and the New-Haven based Elm City Girls Choir Academy, a highly acclaimed treble chorus which performed in Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem at Boston's Symphony Hall in April of 2007. In the summer of 2007, Krishan served on the faculty of the Berkshire Choral Festival, where he lead sectional rehearsals and taught classes in conducting and music theory. Krishan is currently the Organist and Assistant Choral Director at the Immaculata Church on the campus of the University of San Diego.
